Formed in 1999, the HECission is to benefit the members of the associated professional societies related to the energy industry by:
- Sharing information
- Promoting cross-disciplinary education and networking
- Encouraging participation in each other’s programs
- Facilitating development of cooperative programs
Each member society is entitled to two representatives on the Council. It is encouraged that one representative be appointed/elected for a multiple-year term for continuity purposes and that the other be a member of the society’s Board for informational purposes. Since part of the HECssion is to encourage cooperation and joint efforts, the Council has no committees other than ad-hoc committees formed among the representatives. Any joint effort is “pushed down” to the corresponding committees of the individual member societies.
